Reviving Legends Through Art and Motion
We had the honour of bringing the iconic Takumi and Drift King Keiichi Tsuchiya back to life in a story that unfolds at the break of dawn. As Takumi practices his drifts, he receives one final lesson from his sensei, weaving nostalgia with adrenaline.
At Plumehead, we handled the direction, editing, design, VFX, and animation to craft this dynamic and heartfelt project. Our talented friends at Zelig Sound created a bespoke track and immersive sound design, completing the experience. This is more than a tribute — it’s a celebration of legends.

1. Mastering The Craft
The first of three 15 second spots, we find Takumi racing along a steep mountain road in his iconic AE86. With no cars around, he floors it, entering into a drift. Quickly, we see a pair of strange headlights come up behind him quickly.
2. Pursuit
We open from the perspective of our Mystery Driver. He is ready to teach one final lesson to his student.
3. The Challenge
Our final face-off! The drift, the race, and the reveal of Sensei Keiichi Tsuchiya.
